maternity fashion {on the cheap!}

i heart Heather Bailey. a lot. she basically rocks my {fabric} world. i made this cute {and very very simple} strapless tank using fabric from her Nicey Jane collection and some elastic thread. i then added a white non-maternity cardigan over the top with a coordinating green belt to tie the look together. classy look without looking motherly. love it. and i'll admit, the print makes the outfit :o)

since i made the tank and use part of my non-maternity wardrobe, this entire outfit cost under $10. plus i'll be able to use the non-maternity cardigan after pregnancy since i'm using it in a way that does not stretch it out. great way to stretch your fashion budget during those 9 months, huh.

my goal with my maternity refashions and updates is to have a look that doesn't scream maternity. i want to look fashionable and trendy. not matronly and fat. i am creating outfits that i would wear even if i wasn't preggers. and that's what i'm going for. i don't want to have to change my style due to a growing baby bump. but i'm also doing it on a dime :)

  2. Oh my goodness. You are adorable.

    I love what you have put together. The green belt makes a great focal point. And congratulations on your coming baby! I would have a whole gaggle of kids if I could.
