that super hott man is my *trophy husband* Davis....and he's turning the big
THREE- ZERO today.
yup. he's getting old on me. good thing i'll never hit 30 haha.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVIS!
i love you!
that pic is one of my fave memories. its right after Baby H was born and Davis was the proud daddy holding his boys. it was so cute! {little fuzzy, but that doesn't matter!} i married the most amazing guy who rocks my world.
anyways, in honor of Davis's b-day, i am re-posting the recipe for his fave treat which he requests for his b-day every year....my Chewy Brownies. i actually do not like chocolate {and sadly yes, my b-day is on the biggest chocolate holiday of the year, Valentine's day. i know, i know. i'm weird.} i have a secret trick to making them, ok, so it was more of a *happy accident*....but it makes the most oooey gooey chocolately brownies you've ever tasted! errr..... that's at least what Davis says...i've actually never tasted them....
{all you amazing cooks, you probably already know this trick, but for me, a super amateur cook, i was delighted when i figured it out;}
Chewy Brownies
1 2/3 cups sugar
3/4 cup butter, no substitute
2 tablespoon water
2 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/3 cups flour
3/4 cups cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
chocolate chips to sprinkle on the top(optional)
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Combine sugar, butter, and water. Stir in eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Add dry ingredients to sugar mixture. Stir until combined. Pour into a greased 9"x9" pan and cook for 32-38 minutes or until toothpick comes out still slightly gooey at the bottom of the toothpick.
WARNING: these brownies are very rich!! :)
Those brownies look delicious! I use the same trick--small pan, and take them out just before you think they're done. Yum!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, I'll love chocolate enough for the both of us. Those brownies DO look delicious! I can't wait to make some. Thanks for sharing the your recipe. I hope your hubby has a great day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Mr. CA!

ReplyDeleteI'm with you, I will never turn 30. In fact, I have been 29 for 12 years ;-)
YUM YUM YUM. Happy b-day to your hubs and since you don't like chocolate, that just means more for me :)
ReplyDeleteWishing the Mister a wonderful Birthday. Thanks for the recipe and tip as my daughters love brownies. But I must say I never developed a taste for them.
ReplyDeletei always double my brownie batches which make them very moist and thick. everyone thinks i make the best brownies and little did they know all they had to do was double the batch. never thought of using a smaller pan before though. happy birthday to the hubbs.
