oldest beauty trick in the book... all you need is sugar!

Anyone else out there suffering from cracked, flaky, dry skin with all this cold, dry weather? Need a good exfoliator..... and on the cheap? I know I sure do! This is my fav trick this time of year and I do it all the time. It's probably the oldest {and cheapest}beauty trick in the book. And the best part is, it is basically free..... just add a pinch of granulated sugar to your facial soap and wash your face as you normally do. The ridges of the sugar crystals take off that layer of dead skin and leave your face feeling soft and smooth.
And don't forget to moisturize immediately after washing to trap in the moisture from the water! Works like a charm!

Lovin' the blog. Went to the fabric store yesterday to get burlap to make a spin-off of the zipper bracelet. I hope it turns out!

    Happy crafting!

  4. I've never used sugar, although, I have heard of it. I do use granulated honey - plus the honey itself is a humectant.

  7. Such a good reminder...I think it is also good for your skin to add it to an olive oil & use it as a moisturizing exfoliator for your body in the shower!

  9. I use baking soda as an exfoliant. It's awesome. I like it b/c it doesn't disolve the same way/as quickly as sugar. Plus it's finer. It's also a good skin conditioner. I used to have major acne problems, now, my skin is blemish free! :)
