anthropologie meets maternity.....a shirt refashion

i heart anthropologie. a lot. but my pocketbook isn't that big. and most likely this gorgeous top wouldn't fit me after week 28 anyway. so i decided to use this top as inspiration instead.

*now i'm going to warn you, during my first pregnancy, i worked full time, so most of my maternity clothes are work clothes. hence the huge wardrobe makeover.* {plus the clothes are so 2 years ago!}

 this is what i had to work with to recreate anthro's masterpiece.
looks pretty shabby, eh? i think the just-pulled-out-of-the-attic-wrinkled look helps with that a little ;o)

after a little love and sweat, this is how it turned out:
500 times better, huh? a cap sleeve, modified collar, and some ruffles and ta-da! blah white shirt completely updated. i wish i'd had more sleeve material to recreate the tiered ruffle bottom, but oh-well.
this shirt is a little big, so plenty of room to grow.
i'll post the how-to's next week. i'm just too tired. sorry guys.

i heart my sponsors and i know you will too. please take a second and check 'em out!

    i love anthropology, also, but can't say i own a lot of their clothing since they are a bit pricey. :-)

  6. Love it! I am in the same situation with the work maternity clothes that I am so not in love with. I should look at them with a new eye.
