the baby bump

some of you wanted to see the baby bump. well, here it is at 18 weeks. you'll notice i'm sporting a super trendy maternity tee...oh wait....is there such a thing as stylish maternity clothing, at a DECENT price?! argh. after two failed shopping trips, i've decided to take matters into my own hands and spruce up my drab maternity wardrobe from the first pregnancy and turn it into a fabulous maternity wardrobe. {of course i'll post pics and how-to's}

  2. Congratulations!!

Oh there IS such a thing as affordable maternity clothing. Sometimes Old Navy will have some really cute stuff -other times, not so much. They also have tons of coupons and discounts too if you sign up for emails/have a card with them.

GAP has the cutest clothes too. Lots of times, you can find stuff in the sale section so check there. I got the cutest maternity dress 2 years ago and I've never been pregnant! But you can't tell it's maternity unless you look at the tag. =P

Can't wait to see your maternity clothing designs.

  5. You look so cute. It seems that Target has cute stuff when I walk by. I was pregnant 13 years ago. You shoulda seen the not cute stuff back then.

  6. Oh so agreed on the maternity clothes. I'm 35 weeks pregnant and haven't bothered buying much. It's so expensive, fits poorly, and makes me feel way too matronly. I gave up and have been checking the juniors department for extra long shirts and elastic waist skirts. Even plain t-shirts don't fit me right (I never grew pregnancy boobs, so they are all baggy in the chest).

  10. There's nothing more beautiful than a baby bump, in my opinion, no matter how big or small. The miracle that is taking place inside.... there just aren't words.

You look totally adorable! Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well!

  13. Cute little bump :)
I rarely get maternity shirts when pregnant. I go for normal shirts but larger sizes or styles that support a bump. Way cheaper and you can wear them after you have the baby!

  16. YOU are so cute!!
Trust me, I had my children in the 70s..Talk about BAD clothing!! I know you will take something and make it fab. Can't wait to see or just wear some zipper jewelry and noone will notice.

  17. Look how little you are! :) jealous... I so know what you are talking about... maternity clothes are so gross, but I've found my way around it. I've been buying shirts one size bigger and lots of skirts that I can just put an elastic band in. Perfect for summer!

  18. wow, you are so tiny, and way cute! i am 14 weeks pregnant and have a bigger bump than you, it's kinda funny how everyone is different. but anywho, i love shopping at charlette russe or forever 21, they seem to have quite a bit of longer style tees and you can get them in a bigger size to accomodate your belly! oh and i love downeast basics maternity tees, they come in a variety or colors, are really cute and way cheap! good luck shopping :)

  24. okay, this is what i have to say:

so when i wander around for hours just LOOKING in target - well, i'm sure you know how it is with one or another store. anyway, i'm in the juniors section, drifting into the dressier and eventually normal grown up women's wear section.

and i start wonder, why are these clothes so strange? they are super cute! but weirdly built, i suppose. maybe some creative sewing, and my mind begins to wonder. and then i realize, i've wandered into the maternity section...

... again!! suffice it to say, i am always looking back when i walk out, thinking creatively. okay, that's my story. also, i'm only 18! i don't need any mommy to be wear! so it makes it even stranger to do this :P

PS - don't forget to spend time looking at clearance racks while you still HAVE time :)
