Just wanted to show off this rad gift a couple of my friends made for my little man's 1st Birthday. I thought it was such a clever idea. And of course little man loves it! It's a puppet with props for The Very Hungry Caterpillar book, complete with a cocoon. How cool is that?
The hungry caterpillar gets to eat his way through all the felt foods.
Then he goes into his cocoon and....
Out comes a beautiful butterfly!
Isn't this a great gift?! This is so cool too because it can grow with the little ones. Right now, my little man is at the stage where he'll be entertained by watching my hubby or I act the book out with the puppet. But when he gets older, he'll have fun making the caterpillar eat the foods while we read the book.

If you're interested in making your own Hungry Caterpillar set like this for a Christmas gift, the foods items are cut out of felt and then hot glued together. Brilliant, huh!
Thanks for the fabulous gift, you guys! (you know who you are:)
That is just plain adorable! :) What great friends you have to make something so special for your little guy. :)

ReplyDeleteThat is SUCH a cute idea! I wish I had seen this just a week or two earlier. That is the book I am giving my neice and nephew for Christmas. Hmmm. Maybe I will have to make these and mail them to them (I already gave them their gifts at THanksgiving to take back to where they live.) So so cute!!
